What Goats Taught Me Pt. II

Kids, pooches and more.

As I stood there, staring at her bulging udders, it suddenly dawned on me. I’m going to have grandkids.

Having adopted two baby does just over 16 months ago, I have watched them mature and grow into young ladies. There were a few teenage tantrums along the way, including refusing to follow me, trying to run away and jumping on the roof despite me saying ‘ne’.

But we overcame our differences and bonded. They then met their first Billy, who first dated Martina before leaving her for Pandora, and since then he’s done a runner and left me to pick up the pieces. In turned out to be two in the end— Geoffrey and Joffrey.

Reflecting a year on from my last WILFG blog, I’ve realised I’ve learnt a lot more by having these animals.

It’s sometimes easier to have a dog or a human child

You’re laughing right?

How can a goat be easier than those two. All you have to do is feed and water them, and they’re happy. That is mostly true, however you have to be there for that to happen. When I lived in the open mountainside, the goats sometimes escaped (but didn’t roam far) or got their legs caught in the rope so much so they just sat down.
