The travel bug — part II
Dilemmas of travelling
As I was writing my other post on travelling where I talked about why I love it so much, I also started thinking about a few issues people often face when travelling. Nothing’s ever all gravy after all.
It is about the money
How do you travel around for periods of time, making the most of what’s on offer? Museums, galleries, adrenalin sports, tours, cooking courses… the list goes on. Most of the time people just save up before they go, researching what they’d like to do and give themselves a budget as they move around (always add 10% on!). More often than not though, you end up sacrificing where you spend some money, either missing out on fun stuff or just sticking to bowl after bowl of rice.
Things may change though. Now we’ve moved into the internet age. This has brought a new world of digital nomads, with a rapidly increasing take-up as people are no longer restricted to an office to work. They have Skype meetings weekly, log their hours with clockify and either are allowed to work remotely or find jobs on Upwork or Guru. The dream can be extended after all as you work, earn, travel.
Climate. Change.
As someone who tries to think about the effect their actions have on our planet, my carbon footprint isn’t…
