A question, a thought, a doubt,
posed decades ago
has gradually reared its head.

Growing in time, with time,
not ignored, but put off,
until it has to be put to bed.

Or perhaps explored a little more?
The reality and consequences
of an action that changes lives.

Not just one head though,
but two, maybe three.
So it’s about which one most drives

You. Towards that future place,
both unknown and unseen,
definitely all happy, but what about regret?

The knocking has to be answered,
the door cracks ajar,
it’s time to do, and not just forget.
