Some people call it manual labour, but here it isn’t like that. You see, being active in the field or garden or sea is something you enjoy doing when it comes to the Mediterranean Diet.

It’s something you most often do with your nearest and dearest, and something that has been passed on from generation to generation. Whether you’re 5 or 95 there’s a job for you, and you will be involved. From planting to picking to processing, by the time you’re a teenager who has been properly immersed, you’ll know the ways of old.
Some of those teenagers then take that knowledge, combine it with modern technology and science and make a life out of it. Or perhaps they’ll make something to make it easier for those they know working the fields still.
Whatever the activity is — there are three main rules!

As you move from season to season, from fruit to vegetable to plant to animal, you will encounter a number of jobs that have to be done to support that circle of life.
