Should I bulk or cut first?
Dilemmas of a 21st century lad
Looking in the mirror after a shower, I see my body for what it is.
One that can run long distances at a fair pace, one that can compete in contact sports with people much younger than me. One that doesn’t quite know how to swim, but at least doesn’t drown. One that has been through a number of injuries, but no broken bones. One that aches a bit more now, and perhaps should be treated a bit kinder (weekly massage?).
Ultimately, one that can do what I need it to do, for now at least.
Because this body has aged, just like bodies must do, especially when you do certain sports or activities repeatedly through the years.
It has bulked too, without any special diet, but perhaps more to do with a slower metabolism at stages without a reduced calorie intake. At the same time, it has elements that are cut, but I never intended for that either, but when you do certain training more than others, it just happens. Neither were intentional, unlike for the youth of today, or perhaps of always.
