Rice fields

Cambodia — silly poems for your backpack

Sep 20, 2023

Just a bike ride away
To get to something so serene,
With the gentle sway and the soft wind,
Whistling through the vast green
Fields of shooting stalks,
That barely feed this nation.

The sight soothes your mind,
Similar to a bonfire,
Yet different, as the breeze,
Causes a hushing noise,
Something that will please
Those wanting to think,
About the future of this nation.

While I travel, I enjoy writing a bit of poetry, mostly silly stuff, but all to remember the fun I had.

I publish them all on Medium, so check out my other poems here.
