My Minimalist Lifestyle
Why I live this way.
I was recently informed that I don’t spend a lot of money. Whether this came from a good place or a bad place, I’m not sure. The reason behind this, in my mind, is that I live in as much of a minimalist way as possible.
That’s because what’s more important to me is to have more free time, and to spend it in a way that feeds my soul, brain and body, as well as to have experiences not things.
Here is an insight to my minimalism and how it does that.
Food glorious food
I love food. Who doesn’t? I’ve also been fortunate to travel all around the world, and taste a plethora of amazingness. From aloo paratha to empanadas, crni rižot to satay chicken, as well as my lesser favourite ciorbă de burtă and stuffed bitter gourd.
But most of the time now, I cook and eat alone. I used to walk around supermarket aisles wondering what to buy, and then staring in my fridge thinking what to cook. There would be days where I would just order in, and then things would go out of date.
Then I lived without a fridge, and you are limited with expiry dates and therefore what you can buy. You have a choice — shop every day and cook what you get, or buy things that keep and eat them over a few days.
