Hobbiton

Did the film make the country,
Or the country make the film?

Did Mordor steep mystery,
Or was Tongariro already mysterious?

Did the beacons light the way,
Or were the southern alps already illuminated?

Was Gollum the first unique creature,
Or did the kiwi and tuatara beat him by far?

Did Hobbiton create the community feel,
Or did Matamata already see song and spirit?

Were the Ents of Fangorn brought in,
Or did Snowdon boast whispering trees before?

My friends, you bow to no-one,
New Zealand, nor do you.

While I travel, I enjoy writing a bit of poetry, mostly silly stuff, but all to remember the fun I had.
