From Cambodia to Croatia
Not quite as big a change as expected
**Disclaimer**
The following is an opinion piece, feel free to argue with it as you please. Furthermore, I could write equally positive or damning things about other countries I have lived in such as the UK, Spain or India, and do not think any country is better than another. Moreover, I wish that each country offers their citizens the chance to live their life freely, openly and with support from the state. Finally, not all Cambodians are as I state below, not all Croatians are either. If I were to name names instead, then I don’t think the read would be as pleasant.
Time to move
The decision was made, and back to Europe I would go to be closer to two of the Fs in the UK.
But where? Well, at the very least, it had to be warm, by the sea, with mountains nearby and a member of the EU to make it easier to move to <laugh>. Quickly, I whittled down the options and chose Croatia.
It was somewhat of a mystery to me, having only previously visited Istria for a holiday and Zagreb for work. I still thought Hajduk [hi-dook] was pronounced hadgedook and had no idea about Bura (a strong NE wind), rakija (the local spirit of choice) or even kulen (a delicious spicy sausage, the chorizo of Croatia).
