Finding what you love.

By binning what you dislike.

I’m approaching the ripe old age of 11 next month!

This guy’s got age issues.

Okay, I’m actually turning 33, but the way I look at things is that life only began when I fully became an adult.

That’s when full time education is over and done with. When you are faced with decisions that have no deadlines nor come in neat, time-bound packages. When suddenly you have your whole life ahead of you and for the first time you actually think of it as your life. No parents, no peer pressure, no teachers…

Dive in, head first

It seemed a little daunting and overwhelming at first. The idea of retirement was also a dying deadline, as nowadays it is constantly being pushed back and back. It appeared to me that perhaps I would never retire, I would never get to an age where I could put my feet up and just do what I enjoy. I should forget the golf courses, allotment sessions and trips to stunning islands.

With this stark reality, and after an amazing time year abroad whilst living in Barcelona, I thought I’d better figure out what I love most and quickly at that, and then turn that into my life.

What better way to take the plunge than to jump on a friend’s plan and travel halfway…
