Nepal — Silly poems for your backpack

Looking out across Gokyo lake

Ten places past until I met you
and finally I could breathe.
The one thing I had missed
the one thing I had to leave.

I stare at you now,
you’re more awake than before.
You shimmer and shape
almost up to the door.

When I saw you I knew
I wanted to be close.
I flirted with your edges
and that was enough of a dose.

I breathed you in
with my mouth, ears and nose.
But scared to go further
and dip in my toes.

While I travel I enjoy writing a bit of poetry, mostly silly stuff, but all to remember the fun I had.

I recently completed the three peaks, three passes, Everest base camp trek — read more about that here and look out for my other poems!
