Eat rice

Rice is their staple,
Breakfast, lunch and dinner,
If you haven’t had your rice,
You’re pretty much a sinner.

It’s the first thing you ask,
When you meet your friends,
Nyam bai hai?
Yes or no, and it ends.

I learnt something new too,
The slightly burnt rice,
That’s left in the pot,
Tastes pretty sweet and nice.

Once the fluffy stuff is over,
The burnt bit remains,
There’s a fight to the pot,
To claim those final grains!

While I travel, I enjoy writing a bit of poetry, mostly silly stuff, but all to remember the fun I had.

I publish them all on Medium, so check out my other poems here.
