Dunga Beach
Kenya — Silly poems for your backpack
A beach is a beach if it has a body of water,
And Dunga Beach rolls into Lake Victoria.
Though you can forget your towel and trunks here,
This beach is about boat trips and fish.
Sit in the bar, and gaze across the lake,
Order Ugali and a tilapia of the right size.
Sip on a Tusker and watch the fishermen sail,
Or don a lifejacket and boat yourself.
Luckily the water isn’t so appeal for a dip,
Because a hippo could see you off.
While I travel, I enjoy writing a bit of poetry, mostly silly stuff, but all to remember the fun I had.
I publish them all on Medium, so check out my other poems here.
