Nepal — Silly poems for your backpack
The white stuff in a large heap.
A staple that feeds the world.
Light and fluffy, designed to fill.
A dish with a brown sauce.
Various lentils and legumes inside.
Protein for the day’s hike.
A side of vegetables.
Normally including potato.
Varying in spice, but al dente.
If you’re lucky, something pickled.
It gives it that extra edge.
If missing, just ask.
Finally a bit of crunch.
It comes in the form of papad.
A Nepalese peppery cracker.
Free refills available.
While I travel I enjoy writing a bit of poetry, mostly silly stuff, but all to remember the fun I had.
I recently completed the three peaks, three passes, Everest base camp trek — read more about that here and look out for my other poems!
