Grab a pen and paper, and start writing down all the relationships you’re in. How many partners do you have?

I’m not talking just romantic, but also personal, business and other connections where you depend on others and they depend on you. I got pretty bored after sixty and I was nowhere finished.

Then start reading through them, and rating them Good, Okay and Must change. How many of each do you have? Why have you got the ‘Okays’ and ‘Must change’?

Breaking up with Service Providers

We’ve moaned about our bank fees, our internet speed or not going to the gym, but there we are going back to them time and time again. It can actually be quite the abusive relationship, where we are paying for a lot more than we get.

However it’s inconvenient to go and change your bank, or your ISP or cancel your gym membership. It isn’t just opting out of a newsletter and with two clicks it’s done, it usually involves a personal visit and maybe a signature, plus that time lapse between ending one and finding another.

So we endure, and let’s face it things never get that bad.

Have a look at your list again, how did you rate such institutions that take money from you on a monthly basis…
